Creative Collaboration

It's been a while since our last blog...

From launching this website in December 2023, and working on other projects our feet haven't touched the ground!

However, we have also been involved with a community group working on a local art endeavor overseen by Guisborough Arts, Guisborough Giant Arts Trail

As complete newcomers to community projects, we didn't know what to expect. Unlike our workshops, where we are in total control of schedules, attendees, and expectations, participating in this project was a complete change from the norm and challenged us to step out of our comfort zones.

Two primary projects were completed in the communal area, a 'giant' teapot and a monumental cat, both proved to be very interesting endeavors that required the utilisation of new (to us) materials and methods.

This project really emphasised our dedication to pyrography art, with only occasional forays into Bob Ross style acrylics, we recognised we dont have a lot of varied experience with other materials.

Our inexperience of wider art mediums was exposed!  We will now make more effort to explore a wider range of mediums, recognising that art truly knows no bounds.

Another significant aspect of this project was engaging with individuals and fostering connections with those possessing diverse experiences and backgrounds, providing a fun way to gain knowledge and exploration of their respective expertise.

All in all community projects can be challenging to begin with, we needed to 'find our groove' but once settled it is great fun and a fantastic sense of achievement and immensley satisfying to be a part of something big that the whole town can enjoy.

Thank you to Guisborough Arts team and everyone involved.
